Question

I have a bloated gut, heaviness and feeling like stomach cramps. I poop every day but I have this feeling that it is not completely cleared. Why is this so?

Doctor's Answer

This is a classic sign of SIBO. This feeling that gut is not completely cleared is often due to inflammation and increased fermentation of the food in the intestine leaving putrefaction. This can lead to more methane producing bacterial overgrowth which cause inflammation in the gut lining and also lead to the feeling of incomplete stool. I would recommend eating more soluble fibre like okra water, ashgourd juice, stewed apple or soaked chia seeds. This will help feed the good bacteria and introduce some natural antibiotics like neem oil which can kill these overgrowth. If you are confused about what exactly to do - I would recommend you contact us so we can guide you personally through this.

Your doctor wasn't wrong to prescribe what they did. Antacids reduce acid. PPIs suppress production. Antibiotics kill bacteria. Each treatment does exactly what it's supposed to. What conventional medicine doesn't provide is the next step — healing the damage those years of medication left behind, and rebuilding the gut so it doesn't need the medication anymore. That's where Thavira Health comes in. Our AYUSH-certified doctors treat the gap between symptom management and permanent healing.
