I am suffering from bloating, acidity and farting. Whenever I eat food, i feel the urge to go to the toilet. What can be done to solve this? I also have a lot of sugar cravings. Is it related?

Doctor's Answer

What you describing could be IBS, where you the gut is inflamed and you feel the urge to defecate immediately after eating food. Sugar craving is a sign of bacterial overgrowth in the intestine which is also causing your farting and bloating. I would suggest avoiding sugar entirely. Consume low FODMAP diet and eat more soluble fibre to improve the good bacteria. We would need to take more proper case so we can help you with functional medicne aspect. Your condition is very treatable with the right approach - so do contact us so we can guide you correctly.

When IBS comes with strong sugar cravings, bacterial overgrowth is almost always involved — the bacteria feed on sugar and signal the brain to provide more. Breaking that cycle requires both eliminating the bacteria and correcting the gut environment that allowed them to grow.

This is exactly the kind of question our doctors address in a clinical consultation — because what looks like a simple symptom is often connected to multiple layers of gut dysfunction. At Thavira Health, every patient begins with a detailed evaluation before the protocol is built. Our AYUSH-certified team combines naturopathy, herbology, supplements, yoga, meditation, acupressure, and hydrotherapy in a sequence specific to your condition, your history, and your body's response. The first step is our information-packed webinar, where Dr. Rayan walks through what this looks like — or you can book a one-on-one consultation call directly: thavira.health.
