Doctor's Answer

Yes this is indeed connected. Skin itching and frequent cold are both signs that your body is in a state of hyper-reactivity, either due to stress or inflammation. Especially in IBS, where the line of treatment is steroids, this often leads to weakened immune system over time causing excess cold. Addressing inflammation should be the first priority. So start with eating fresh, homemade food and avoid outside , processed food. Avoid gluten and dairy and preferably take a low FODMAP diet. This should keep the gut stable. Make sure you have enough vitamin D, B12 and C which are absolutely essential in controlling triggers and gut health.
