I’ve lost 20 kg in the last 2 years. I have gastric problems, gas in the chest, burning in the stomach, and bloating in the upper stomach immediately after eating. All my tests are normal. I’m taking Ayurvedic medicine but weight loss continues. Could this be H. pylori?
Okay, thats a bit concerning. Your symptoms are indeed consisten with H.Pylori infection. I would recommend getting a stool antigen test done to confirm it. Weight loss is present because the body is not able to digest and absorb the nutrients. Mostly because of low acid and weak gut lining - which are common signs seen in H.Pylori infection as well. Dietary restrictions will depend on whether or not H.pylori is present or not. But in general I would siggest lowering the carb intake and taking soft nourishing foods like soup, khichi, etc which is easier to digest. Avoid processed foods, sugar and spicy food because they end up feeding the bacteria. I would recommend you get the test done and contact our doctors so we can start working on improving our gut and gaining weight back naturally.
